Rihanna nude pics for real?

RihannaPictures have surfaced online that purport to be pictures of Rihanna in the nude. And they asure look like them. Rihanna has issued a statemnet but not a denial. See all the pics after the jump.

Riri was really devastated with the news! she even had to fly to Hawai & stayed there for some time.

This is what she said in her interview with KIIS FM:

Rihanna says she’s all for women taking naked photos of themselves while they are in their prime.

“In 20 years, you’ll regret it if you didn’t,” Rihanna said with a laugh during an interview with KIIS FM’s “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Tuesday.

The pop singer, who just released her new album, “Rated R,” last week, also confirmed reports that her pool man has seen her naked.

“Oh my God! These are all true [rumors],” she told Ryan. “I don’t like, flaunt my stuff to him. I just have no idea what day it is ever, so I never remember what day he comes and I’m always just walking around my house.”

The 21-year-old superstar said she likes to relax when she gets to her home in Los Angeles, but doesn’t often pay attention to the date that the pool cleaner is scheduled for a visit.

“He comes one day a week. I’m never in LA so when I come, I’m not thinking, ‘There’s a pool guy that’s going to come,’” she said. “[I’m come in], let me go to the refrigerator, grab a bottle of coconut water and then I turn around and it’s like, Frozen. Freeze.”

Rihanna, who will appear on “Saturday Night Live” this coming weekend, also confirmed to Ryan she was originally going to title her new album boldly as “Such A F*****’ Lady.”

“True. Very true, I was so disappointed, but the label was like, ‘Uh, Wal-Mart, that’s 75 percent of your albums, they’re not having that.’ I said, ‘What about ‘F-in’ [Lady]?’”

While Rihanna cleared up a few rumors with her visit to the DJ’s studio, she revealed her life is very different nowadays, when Ryan asked if things have gone back to “normal.”

“No,” she said. “It’s a different life. Normal? I wouldn’t say normal. It’s definitely more intense. Like everyday is another curve ball, but now I just know how to handle it, you know? Every time you get put under a situation it somehow seems to make you stronger in the end. Even though you don’t feel like it, you feel like this is the end of the world, it somehow works out.”

THE HALL- By Gbenga Aliu

....I was in a big hall, a very big one. Everything was blue. The seats, the long curtains..the walls, d deep blue carpet and all. The hall was well lit, and filled to capacity. The people in it were of various races, and countries. I heard languages; soft spoken, pleasant ones and aggressive, voracious ones. I smelt power. From where I sat I could see a desk that had a white plaque written "united states", and seated right behind it was The US President. I also saw a similar plaque written United Kingdom in front of Gordon Brown. I saw all the EU Leaders and their delegates. I then leaned forward to take a look at the South African president, right den was when I felt a tap on my shoulder....t'was my president saying hello as he walked past and sat right in from of me. From where I sat I could see the Ghanaian delegates with the president. Diplomatic pleasantries were being exchanged by everyone, with smiles on their faces, even if the parties didn’t mean love in their minds. Right up the hall I could see the translators' box as they were getting set to be involved in the fierce debate between world leaders over the protection of their countries in the present environmental crisis that has evolved over the years. Skin burning heat penetrated the skins of Africans and the people from the Middle East. The Asians either suffered earthquakes or tsunamis, in Europe and America, there was extreme cold. The most part of Australia and d micro islands had been submerged by water. There was shortage of food. Children in developing countries had begun to die of starvation; the governments had been too busy with other national issues to have noticed when mortality rates began to rise. AND NOW THERE IS FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN, AND THERE'S NOWERE TO RUN TO.

As the Secretary General came up d lectern to speak, perfect decorum filld d hall; was he coming to perform a magic with words dat`ll turn d situation of things around? This silence of great expectations made him shiver deep within him.at first he had enjoyd d prestige of office, now he has to play "Jesus" by carrying d problems of d world on his shoulder. Alone?!

As he spoke, I saw a sharp light flash across my face, and suddenly his heart looked like glass to me. Behold could see his conscience and his tots. I was quick to compose myself, in order not to miss out on what he was saying, yet this new supposedly new gift in me saw thru his conscience…he was weeping inwardly as he spoke. The Chairman later called on the Indian leader to speak, and then the Pakistani, then the Croatian, then the Indian, and then the Australian. My heart broke as I saw thru the hearts of these leaders…they totally loved and served their people whom they represented at this international gathering. As some of them spoke, they inwardly said a short prayer and wandered how deir citizens wer faring at back home. They all spoke with genuine passion and anguish. One leader practically got me sobbing were I was, his heart was so open and bright as all his general concerns, unlike the others, was staged towards the problems of everyone. He practically begged God, to save the World, and not just the US which he represented.

The first African leader to be called was my president, and then south-Africa’s and then the Gambia’s etc. As I looked thru the hearts of the majority of the African leaders, a fierce rage came up within me. While one of them spoke, he was thinking of how to take advantage of the disunity in his country by staying in power. Another leader was thinking of the call he was expecting from his finance minister after ordering d transfer of huge funds to his secret account. These leaders practically sold the education, health, good roads, electricity and wealth of their people for their personal enjoyment. Just then did I ask God for a little favor…”could You please kindly command the ground to swallow them up?” ….and as simple as this prayer was, I did it with all the faith within me.

As though, d chairman felt what I felt, he asked for me to be prepared to speak.

As I walked up to the lectern, I did it in a majestic manner; I walked past the Zimbabwean PM, and briefly gave him a look of pity. When I got to d lectern, with a frown, I looked at my president sharply, and den I saw fear. There was silence, so deafening, and I seemed to be in-charge. The world looked at me…and I looked at them back in the eyes….and it was a whole five minutes of dramatic silence. And I could see d hearts of everyone. I could see truth, I could see a lie, I could see beasts and I could see angels….oh…with my eyes did I see things in that gathering. And then, I began my speech in which I was to compromise, and den I made a decision to stand for what is right..and began to say the truth…. There was a loud roar in the room..and everyone in it came to a conclusion that “I was insane”.

Final year student beaten up by the Nigerian Police!

Some female lawyers based in Ekiti State have asked the Nigeria Police to prefer criminal charges against the four policemen who allegedly beat a final year student of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Miss Abigail Ige, to coma.

The lawyers, who are coordinators of different human rights groups, in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, said it was more painful that two policewomen were involved in the alleged assault.

In a statement by the Chairperson of Federation of International Women Lawyers in Ekiti State, Mrs. Toyin Ajibulu, Ronke Ige of New Initiative For Social Development, Oluwaseyi Ojo of Directorate for Citizens‘ Rights and Olajumoke Olute, the lawyers demanded N10m as compensation for the victim.

The statement read, “We demand a written apology by the Ekiti State Police Command to our client (Abigail Ige) for the violation of her fundamental right, which should be published in two widely read national newspapers.

“The immediate investigation of the crime of grievous assault occasioning harm to Abigail and preferment of criminal charges against all the police officers involved.

“The immediate payment of N10m to Abigail by the police as compensation for humiliation, degradation, disgrace and inconvenience suffered in hands of the officers and for medical expenses incurred so far by her.”

They stated that the actions of the police officers on Ige, a final year student of Microbiology, amounted to violation of her fundamental right to dignity of human person pursuant to Section 34(1)(a), 1999 Constitution.

The groups said they were committed to seeing that justice was done in the matter.

Ige was accosted at Fayose Market in Ado-Ekiti where she had gone to buy some fingerlings for her final year project by a policeman who wanted to search her handbag.

She was reported to have asked the policeman to conduct the search on the spot but the policeman insisted on taking the bag to the police station. The policeman was said to have snatched the bag and took it to the police station where Ige was allegedly beaten to coma. She was later revived at the University Teaching Hospital Ado-Ekiti.

United States Announces their New Visa Fees...

The United States Department of States has announced a worldwide change to fees associated with certain categories of immigrant visas and American citizenship services.

The newly announced fees follow new non-immigrant visa fees previously announced June 4, 2010, according to a statement by the State Department on Monday.

The Department of State is changing the schedule of fees to ensure sufficient resources to cover the rising cost of delivering consular services.

The statement said the US Embassy in Abuja and the US Consulate-General in Lagos would begin collecting the new fees from individuals submitting applications on or after Tuesday (Today).

Under the new worldwide schedule of fees, the application fee for immigrant visas in immediate relative and family preference cases (processed on the basis of an I-130, I-600 or I-800 petition) will be $330. The application fee for employment-based cases (processed on the basis of an I-140 petition) will be $720.

Diversity Visa applicants will pay a total fee of $819, including application processing and security surcharge fees.

Changes to fees covering American citizen services include new passport, birth registration and notarial fees. The total charge for a first-time US passport for an adult, including the application fee, security surcharge, and execution fee, will be $135; for an adult’s US passport renewal, the total fee will be $110; and for a minor’s US passport, the total fee will be $105.

A new fee of $82 for inserting additional passport pages into a US passport will be imposed. The fee for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad will be $100. Notarial fees will be $50 per notarised document.

“In general, the new fees are due in full for any services provided on or after July 13, 2010. All fees are payable in US dollars or the equivalent in Naira.

“The new, tiered fee structure was created to cover the higher costs for processing certain categories of consular services that are more complicated and require more in-depth consideration.
“The US Department of State is required to recover, as much as possible, the cost of processing consular services through the collection of these fees. The US Department of State began collecting increased fees for nonimmigrant visa applications on June 4, 2010,” it added.

Witty Jokes...

An old woman had been going to the same doctor for over
50 years and during that time had made his life a living hell

Eventually, however, she died and was buried in the local

also died and was buried in the next plot to her. For a few
minutes after the mourners had gone all was quiet and then
the doctor heard tapping on the side of his coffin.
“What is it now, Mrs Mowner?” he signed.
“Can you give me something for worms, doctor?”

Finally Spain Has Done It For The first Time!

Spain's Andres Iniesta, left, scores a goal past Netherlands' Rafael van der Vaart during the World Cup final soccer match between the Netherlands and Spain at Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sunday, July 11, 2010. (AP / Martin Meissner)

Spain has beaten the Netherlands 1-0 to win the World Cup for the first time in the country's history, with a shot that rocketed into the net in the final minutes of extra time.

Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta scored the winning goal 116 minutes into play.

Hundreds of millions of people were expected to watch the match in South Africa, as the gritty Netherlands' squad battled the flashy Spaniards for soccer supremacy.

It was a rough and dirty game, setting the record for most yellow cards handed out in a final. The Dutch got eight, while Spain got five. The previous record was six, in the 1986 final between Argentina and West Germany.

Ranked third in the world, Spain was considered the favourite and also won the 2008 European Cup. Still, the Netherlands had shown promise after losing consecutive finals in 1974 and 1978.

After a shocking loss to Switzerland to open the tournament, Spain rebounded to overwhelm opponents with the quick-passing and long possessions that make up its classic "Tika Taka" style of play.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, played a solid, all-around game to reach the final without losing a match.

Both teams had a tournament top-scorer: Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Spanish striker David Villa were tied going in to the final for the scoring lead with five goals each.

Both are gunning for the Golden Boot award, which is awarded to the tournament's top scorer.

Spain has now lived up to its pre-tournament hype, and will take home the 18-carat-gold trophy.

"I am sure the Spanish can win any game because they are dominant and it's hard to contain their attack. They have shown they can beat anyone," Germany coach Joachim Loew said after his team's semifinal loss.

But after his team fell to the Netherlands in the semifinals, Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said the Dutch, "play some beautiful football."

"The Dutch can create a goal from any situation," Tabarez said.

Canada has not competed in the World Cup for 24 years -- and in its only appearance, failed to score a single goal. But Prime Minister Stephen Harper took time Sunday to congratulate the 2010 victor.

"To people around the world watching this important sporting event, your national team offered an impressive performance and showed tremendous dedication, determination and talent," he said in a statement.

He also noted that the anthem for this year's tournament, "Wavin' Flag," was written by Somali-born Canadian rapper K'naan.

Germany beat Uruguay 3-2 on Saturday to claim third place in the World Cup.

Prince Harry is a hit with the girls after falling off his horse during charity polo match

Ladies' man: Prince Harry attracts the attentions of two female spectators at the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on Governor's Island, New York

He's not single yet - not officially, at least.

But it took just the merest whiff of a rumour that he might be for Prince Harry to have ladies falling at his feet.

At a charity polo match in New York, Harry, who is rumoured to have recently split with girlfriend Chelsy Davy, was pounced on by two female fans.
They were part of a gaggle of girls fighting to see the prince once the game was over.

Security managed to keep most away, but the two pictured here slipped through and met their prince.

After a shy moment, Harry warmed to them both, shook their hands and spent a few minutes chatting before posing for pictures.

The prince, 25, had been competing in the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governor's Island during an official visit to New York
He was playing against renowned Argentine player and Ralph Lauren pin-up Nacho Figueras in the charity match, which was raising money for Harry's Africa charity Sentebale.

Everything went well apart from a small hiccup when the prince fell off his horse, in front of dozens of celebrities including Val Kilmer, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and actress Julianna Margulies.

To applause from the crowd, he got up, dusted himself off then carried on with the match.

The prince has been with Miss Davy on and off since 2004.
But she has reportedly ended the relationship because she wants to return home to Africa.

WHERE has Naomi Campbell's hair gone?

Bald patch: Naomi Campbell revealed signs of serious hair loss on a fashion photo shoot in New York today

It appears that years of wearing tight hair extensions have taken as toll on the model's natural hair, causing severe breakage.

Hair loss associated with hair braiding, weaving, and extensions is known as 'traction alopecia'.
Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham and Alexandra Burke are all reported to have suffered similar symptoms as a result of their extensions.

While prolonged traction can cause permanent loss of hair in the affected areas, it is reversible if caught early.
But Naomi appeared oblivious to the revelation as she posed at a gas station in the Meatpacking district.

She wore a green swimsuit that put her long, lean legs on show and also paraded a series of fur coats.

The former PETA campaigner famously declared in the Nineties that she would rather go naked than wear fur but she had a change of heart some years back.

Lady in red: Megan Fox sizzled on the red carpet at the premiere of her last movie, Jonah Hex

Fox was just 18 when she met the ex-90210 actor, who was 30 at the time, and the pair have been on and off ever since.

They first got engaged in 2007 before Fox broke it off in February 2009.
Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Fox, 24 and Greeen, 36 had gottten engaged again.

US Weekly reported that Green proposed at The Four Seasons (where they subsequently wed) but Megan lost the ring in the sand.

'I saw her jumping up and down,' a source said. 'Later I saw a half dozen staff sifting through the sand.'

But the search was reportedly unsuccessful.

'Security and maintanence staff spent a couple of hours looking for it,' another source said. 'No one found it.'

Fox denied the story though, saying: 'We've been engaged for four years, so I don't know why the story is breaking now like it's new.

'But I'm happy to still be engaged and still be with him.'

Fox recently opened up about her marriage plans: 'I've been in this relationship so long and I love [Brian] so much,' she said. 'And of course [marrriage is] in the future somewhere.

'I'm not closed to that idea. I just think If you're going to [get married], if you're going to be with someone and make a commitment, it's good to tell the universe, to say I'm commiting to this person and making them my family.'

Real life Mortal Kombat in The National Assembly!

Member of the House of Representatives, Ms. Doris Uboh, being dragged out of Tuesday’s plenary session by the Sergeant-, at-Arms, Col. Emeka Okere (retd.), and a female security operative during a brawl in the House. On the right is a member of the House, Mr. Dino Melaye, after the incident.

The crisis in the House of Representatives degenerated into a free-for-all on Tuesday, as lawmakers exchanged blows, injuring one another in the process.

Eleven members of the Progressive-Minded Legislators, a group calling for the resignation of the Speaker, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, were placed on indefinite suspension, following the fracas.

The suspended lawmakers are Mr. Dino Melaye; Mr. Anas Adamu; Mr. Ehiogie West-Idahosa; Mr. Independence Ogunewe; Mr. Solomon Awhinawhin; Mr. Austin Nwachukwu; Mr. Gbenga Oduwaiye; Mr. Gbenga Onigbogi; Mr. Kayode Amusan; Mr. Bitrus Kaze; and Ms. Doris Uboh.

A pro-Bankole lawmaker, Mr. Chinyere Igwe, was injured on his right arm after Nwachukwu attacked him with a substance suspected to be tear-gas.

But as the fighting continued, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission raided the office of the Clerk of the House and took away documents believed to be those relating to the N9bn allegation against Bankole by the PML.

A source at the EFCC, who disclosed this to one of our correspondents, said that the operatives, on arrival at the National Assembly complex around 10am, restricted movement around the clerk’s office before taking away the documents.

Trouble broke out on the floor of the House when Igwe and Nwachukwu confronted each other, with the latter allegedly spraying the substance on the former.

Igwe stumbled and fell before he was helped out of the chamber. It was unclear whether he broke his arm as he held it and writhed in pain on his way out.

The speaker‘s loyalists reacted to the development by pouncing on Nwachukwu, and tearing his clothes to shreds before dragging him out of the chamber.

In the ensuing commotion, Awhinawhin was also beaten and forced out of the chamber. He had attempted to snatch the mace but was prevented by the Sergeant-at-Arms, Col. Emeka Okere(retd.), and his aides.

Many members punched Awhinawhin in the melee but he replied with blows. He was left with a bleeding nose before he too was dragged out of the chamber by pro-Bankole legislators.

The PML, which is led by Mr. Dino Melaye, had accused the leadership of the House of allegedly misusing N9bn out of the N11bn voted as the capital vote of the House between 2008 and 2009.

The group had earlier given Bankole a seven-day ultimatum to resign or be “disgraced out of office.”

On Monday, the group submitted a petition to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mrs. Farida Waziri, seeking an investigation into the matter.

Waziri had promised to investigate the allegation immediately and went ahead to say that Nigerians had become fed up with the ”scandals upon scandals” in the House since 1999.

The exchange of fisticuffs took place on Tuesday as the House made to suspend the anti-Bankole lawmakers, on the grounds that the method they adopted in attacking the speaker brought the House to public ridicule .

The House argued that whatever offence the speaker was alleged to have committed should have been addressed through an internal mechanism rather than taking the matter to the public.

A member of the House, Mr. Chile Igbawua, was called by Bankole to move a motion for the suspension of the 11 members.

Igbawua stood and said that the conduct of Melaye and his group breached Section 24 of the Legislative Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act, 2004.

He said that the law prohibited anybody from publishing any statement, ”whether in writing or otherwise, which falsely or scandalously defames a legislative House or any committee thereof.”

Igbawua added that it was an offence under the Act for anyone to publish any material ”reflecting on the character” of either the President or the speaker or ”publishes any writing containing a gross, willful or scandalous misrepresentation of the proceedings of a legislative house or of the speech of any member in the proceedings of a legislative House....”

As Igbawua read the motion, Melaye suddenly sprang out of his seat and started shouting, “Point of order, Mr. Speaker, no, it cannot happen; it cannot be, not here, never!”

Melaye, who came into the chamber with a whistle, started blowing it to distract Igbawua when it was apparent that the speaker was not listening to him.

Bankole asked Igbawua to proceed, but Uboh surged towards Igbawua and tried to snatch the paper from him.

A member sitting next to Igbawua, Mr. Ishiaku Bawa, pushed Uboh, who almost fell. She fought back, hitting Bawa with punches.

Melaye snatched the paper from Igbawua, tore it and threw the pieces on the floor.

Pandemonium resulted as Awhinawhin rushed to snatch the mace but was prevented by Okere, security operatives and some lawmakers. They beat him repeatedly.

In a bid to restore order, Bankole adjourned the sitting of the House by ramming his gavel.

However, the majority of lawmakers led by Mr. Abdul Ningi, a former majority leader, advised him to go back to his seat to continue with the motion.

For over 25 minutes after Bankole returned to his seat, there was a free-for-all as the majority of members backing him, fought with the PML lawmakers.

In the midst of the fracas, Bankole rammed his gavel, endorsing the motion for the suspension of the 11 members.

A bizarre drama followed thereafter, as the PML members were dragged out of the chamber one after the other.

Nwachukwu, who also brought a walking stick into the chamber, received the worst beating. He was almost stripped bare before he was forced out.

Kaze, Melaye, Awhinawhin and Udoh were also beaten and dragged out of the chamber.

Some journalists were also attacked by security agents on Tuesday in the course of performing their legitimate duties.

The Aide-de-Camp to Bankole, Mr. Dauda, personally confiscated the camera of a photojournalist for daring to take shots of the fighting from the press gallery.

The photographer was later beaten and taken out of the gallery. Two reporters suffered a similar fate.

The spokesman of the House, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, later told a news conference that the disorderliness in the chamber took place because the 11 suspended members failed to heed the order of the speaker to leave the chamber after they had been suspended.

He also claimed that the PML members attempted to disrupt the proceedings of the House by attacking Igbawua, while he was moving a motion.

Eyiboh said, ”Nwachukwu came to the session with tear-gas while Melaye brought a whistle and was blowing it. These are weapons and under the rules of the House, they are not allowed to do what they did; it was unruly.

”The speaker invoked Order 10 (5)(6), which culminated in their indefinite suspension.”

When asked whether the suspension had addressed the allegation of abuse of funds by the leadership, Eyiboh replied that the PML members knew the rules of the House and should have exhausted them before going to the public with their allegation.

But reacting to the incident, Melaye said that the House was under the spell of a tyrannical leadership.

He added, “It is the height of tyranny; what they accused us of, Eyiboh and Bankole are also guilty of talking to the press.

“There is nowhere in our rules that says we cannot talk to the press. Mr. Halims Agoda did the same thing when Mrs. Patricia Etteh was the speaker; Farouk Lawan did the same.”

Melaye and Nwachukwu were later invited by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for questioning over the fracas.

The command’s spokesman, Mr. Jimoh Moshood, told the News Agency of Nigeria, that the Commissioner of Police ordered that they should be questioned.

Moshood said, “It is true that Mr. Melaye and Mr. Nwachukwu were invited. They were questioned over the attack on another member of the House, Mr. Igwe.

“I cannot confirm if they have been released or not; all I know is that the commissioner of police ordered their interrogation.”

One of our correspondents learnt from an EFCC source that while the free-for- in the House was going on, five operatives of the commission headed straight for the office of Clerk and retrieved some documents on the award of contracts by the House between 2008 and 2009.

A source at the EFCC who disclosed this to our correspondent said, “They (operatives) moved from office to office to retrieve documents relating to award of contracts that covered 2008 and 2009. The lawmakers were having a stormy session at the period.

“The EFCC men combed all the administrative offices and restricted movement of people around the area. They were seen moving big bags of documents out of the office of the Clerk.

Even when Rob Pattinson Hasn't Arrived At The Premiere still Eclipse Fans Already Line the Street...

So you think people only travel the globe for the World Cup? Nope, an international assembly of Twi-hards has begun to descend on L.A. for Thursday's premiere of Eclipse.

We took a trip downtown earlier today to the L.A. Live entertainment complex to meet some of the 500 or so fans who started camping out yesterday morning to secure a prime viewing spot for the Los Angeles Film Festival red carpet premiere.

And you won't believe what we found...

Shani Duncan flew an incredible 19 hours from Perth, Australia, to set up camp—and this wasn't her first time making a trek for Twilight. "I was here last year for New Moon," Duncan told us. "I camped out for four days as well."

Close by was Carla Preciado from Baja California, Mexico, who displayed a Mexican flag with a homemade sign that read, "Mexicali N' Tijuana ♥ Eclipse."
Twilight, Eclipse

Megan Walter, 30, from La Quinta, Calif., and Puneet Chawla, 27, from Winnipeg, Canada, have reunited for Eclipse after becoming friends when they made similar pilgrimages for New Moon. "We talked all year long on Facebook and kept in communication with all the girls from last year's premiere," Walter said.

Dawn Sirtak, who lives just six blocks away from L.A. Live, described the atmosphere as a big "slumber party."

"We get to grab a few of our friends, talk about something that we really enjoy and are passionate about [and] have fun," Sirtak said.

Monica Siegel, a 22-year-old from Michigan, admitted Edward Cullen & Co. are more than just fictional characters to her and many of her friends. "It becomes a big part of your life when you get into the series," she said. "You start really caring about the story and really relating to the characters in it."

THE KARATE KID...

The Bigger Picture: Dre (Jaden Smith) and mom Sherry (Taraji P. Henson) relocate from Detroit to China for Sherry's job. The reed-thin, gangly Dre soon falls victim to a gang of bullies skilled in martial arts. This vigorous start quickly fizzles as it takes forever for Dre and handyman/kung-fu master Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) to find each other as student and teacher. The scenes where they train, both mentally and physically, for a major tournament are the best, and, unfortunately, in short supply.

The world of the movie is sorely lacking. Dre's mom? Hardly see her. Family back home? Never hear from them. That blond kid he befriends in the first ten minutes? Disappears until the very end. The script heavily favors talky scenes with Mr. Han or lovey-dovey vignettes with Dre's crush, Mei Ying (Wenwen Han), as if no one else in Dre's life exists. His character, then, feels just as incomplete.

There's another issue with Dre, and it concerns the actor who plays him. It's a delicate thing to comment on nepotism in Hollywood; it's given us talents like Sophia Coppola and Michael Douglas, and it's just the way the world works sometimes. But, in part, The Karate Kid is a lesser movie for it. The producers include Jaden's famous parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. It's obvious he didn't beat out hundreds of unknowns with talent alone.

Though not embarrassingly bad, Smith lacks that openness, emotion, and naturalism that the best kid actors embody onscreen. Some of his most plaintive lines sound stiff, and he can't sell the character's lame jokes. He also looks even younger than 12 and younger than his galpal Mei Ying which is just kinda weird.

He's cute, he totally masters the kung-fu, and he's clearly working hard. He's simply not right for the part.

The 180—a Second Opinion: As disturbing as it is to see a bunch of baby-faced 'tweens seriously kick the crap out of each other, the fight scenes are spectacular and the final tournament is kinetic, exciting, and expertly filmed—the only well-paced segment in the movie.

IS LINDSAY LOHAN'S TEA PARTYING SABOTAGING HER SCRAM?

Rocking a SCRAM bracelet hasn't exactly been Lindsay Lohan's cup of tea. But, according to reports, her recent run-in with the law could have been due to her love for that particular beverage.

The 23-year-old embattled starlet has been spotted around town with bottles of Kombucha tea, which the company claims contains only a trace of alcohol (less than .5 percent). But recently, Lilo's drink of choice was pulled from shelves at Whole Foods.

Why, you may ask?

Lohan's beloved beverage is now suspected of having more alcohol in it than its label states, according to X17online.com. Since the law requires that any beverage with more than .5 percent alcohol content come with a government warning, the exact amount of alcohol is being investigated.

But, could guzzling bottles of Kombucha really have set off Lohan's SCRAM the night of the MTV Awards, raising her blood-alcohol level to a reported .03-.04?

Kombucha's head honcho says no way.

"Although we are not familiar with the technology or sensitivity of SCRAM bracelets, we think it would be highly unlikely that our products would trigger an alarm, " G.T. Dave, president and CEO of GTs Kombucha, told E! News.

"After conversations with Whole Foods we share a concern around potential labeling issues related to slightly elevated levels in some Kombucha products," GT said. "In order to ensure regulatory compliance, we are supporting Whole Foods Market with the temporary removal of all Kombucha products in bottles on tap from their stores at this time."

Even if the levels of alcohol are slightly elevated, however, chances are Lilo would have to down way more than one or two bottles of this tea to raise her levels high enough to set off her SCRAM.

But, it might be a possibility if she guzzles bottle after bottle...after bottle.

In comparison, beers typically have 3-6 percent alcohol content. If Kombucha has more than .5 percent alcohol content, it's plausible to think that drinking enough of the tea may set off a SCRAM device.

CHRIS BROWN DENIED ENTRY INTO UK

R&B singer, Chris Brown has been denied entry into the UK which has forced him to scrap his British tour. He was denied entry into the country because he had been found guiilty of a serious criminal offense.

The tour was supposed to have kicked off yesterday in Glasgow, followed by concerts in Birmingham, Manchester and London.

According to the tour promoters the tour was cancelled "due to unforeseen circumstances."

Concerning its refusal to allow the singer entry into the UK, the Home Office said "we reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns."

Last year, Chris Brown attacked his then girlfriend Rihanna in his vehicle on their way back from a Pre-Grammy party. He later pleaded guilty and was ordered to to perform 180 days of community service and attend domestic abuse counselling.

After the ugly incident involving him and Rihanna, the singer has been almost been regarded as an outcast in the music industry. He was refused entry into Drake's album listening party last month.

Chris Brown does however has the rights to appeal the decision. I wonder when this Issue will be over!

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Official Trailer

This is the first of the two last movies for the entire series, corresponding to the first half of book 7. In this one, Harry, Ron, and Hermione go on the trek that Dumbledore sent them on to find and destroy all of the lost Horcruxes, but it won't be easy. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are fugitives from the law when the Death Eaters have taken over the Ministry of Magic and there is a 10,000 galleon price for anyone who turns in Harry to the Death Eaters so Voldemort can kill him. The Dark Lord told all Death Eaters not to kill Harry because he wants Harry for himself. Harry doesn't know what the horcruxes look like, where they are, and he doesn't have any means of destroying them. While Harry is on this quest, he keeps having little glimpses into Voldemorts mind and he sees that The Dark Lord is also on a quest, but Voldemort's quest is to find a wand that Harry has never heard of, and when Harry investigates this a bit, his leads take him to a mysterious story about "The Deathly Hallows". So, while Harry is looking for the Horcruxes and learning more about "The Deathly Hallows", he finds himself in more danger that he's ever been in before. And when danger calls, people die... and in the last thriller of the Harry Potter series, fight breaks out and a lot of people die, and you will be in tears during every minute of this movie only to be in even more tears when it's over. This movie is coming out on 19th November 2010....

Waiting Patiently for the New Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader which will be coming out 10th Dec. 2010

It's been a while since the last Chronicles of Narnia installment, and I am sure that die-hard fans have been anxious to see the trailer for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Right?

Well, it does not disappoint. Stunning visuals, magical creatures and seriously epic battle scenes, could this be the best Narnia film yet? We'll have to wait to find out in December, when the film's scheduled to be released—in 3-D, natch.
Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world. Seriously I can't wait for the movie to come out on Silverbird Cinema...

Peep This: First Official Resident Evil: Afterlife (in 3D)

Sony has debuted the first official trailer for Resident Evil: Afterlife, with Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter, today (via Bloody-Disgusting) and you can check it out below. I'm not sure why, but the studio is trying to hype up this fourth new sequel as much as possible, mainly now that it's in 3D, but because this is the fourth movie, I'm not sure why they think anyone will be excited for this besides the the usual fans. Anyway, this looks as action cheesy as it can get, but I am a bit amused by the fact that they chose to say in the trailer that this was shot in 3D. At least these guys know that converting to 3D is a bad idea! Watch if you're interested.
