NIGERIAN IDOL COMING SOON
Two months after the conclusion of the ninth season of American Idol, Nigerian fans were surprised to see clips on TV suggesting that Nigerian Idol is set to hit our airwaves.
Starting off as speculation, the arrival of the global TV phenomenon on our shores has been confirmed its publicist. According to a statement issued by Black House Media "Optima Media Group, one of Africas leading Sports, Media and Entertainment Companies has acquired the license to produce the global TV phenomenon in Nigeria
Sources at OMG have also reaffirmed the authenticity of Nigerian Idol. Yes, we are licensees of Idol in Nigeria, and we are aware that some are cynical, as singing contests are common in local television, however, we assure you that this is the real deal.
The show is expected to kick off in July 2010 with auditions in six yet-to-be-disclosed locations of Nigeria. Nigerian Idol will be aired both on cable and terrestrial television across Nigeria, with at least 50 wanna be singers rocking the mic.
Applications for Idols will be made available for talented singers
between 16 and 28, after which a list of 50 contestants who will be given tasks to prove themselves as Nigerias singing Idol will be selected. Audition forms are expected to make first appearances on the official website www.nigerianidol.com from July 2, 2010
