Pope Benedict’s Full Resignation Statement
Tweet
Dear Brothers,
I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonisations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church.
After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry.
I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering.
However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognise my incapacity to adequately fulfil the ministry entrusted to me.
For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on April 19, 2005, in such a way, that as from February 28, 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.
Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff.
With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

Nigeria Police Going on Strike Soon Over Unpaid Salaries
Tweet
For delaying the payment of their January salary, junior officers in the Nigeria Police have threatened to embark on strike. Most of the junior officers from the Lagos State Police Command said they are embarking on strike anytime next week to force the authorities to pay their salaries.
“We are going to drop our guns and batons next week if the government fails to pay our salaries,” a junior officer at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID,said.
The officer decried a situation where salaries of law enforcement officers will be delayed by the government knowing full well that they face a lot of temptations in the performance of their duties. Investigations revealed that the threat to embark on strike by junior officers did not start now but the police authorities have been managing the situation. “The situation is getting worse. Many of us are finding it difficult to pay our bills. We can’t pay our children’s school fees as a result of the delay in the payment of our salaries,” the junior officer lamented.
Further investigations revealed that many of the officers have children in higher institutions and they have been putting pressure on their parents to pay their school fees. “Many of us have more than one wife and many children to cater for. Our children’s school fees have been increased and the salary remains the same. Do you know that some secondary schools are charging fees higher than some tertiary institutions? And for each child, I pay nothing less than N80,000 per term. I have five children in different private schools,” a deputy superintendent of police, DSP, at the Command’s headquarters on Oba Akinjobi Road, Ikeja, lamented.
A junior officer at Oduduwa Crescent where MOPOL 20 is based, also lamented the late payment of salaries of policemen, saying it has the tendency of killing morale of policemen. “I have three children in the university, two are in private secondary schools preparing to write their senior secondary school certificate examination, SSCE. If my salary is not paid on time, where do I get the money to pay? I can’t go and rob,” he said. A police constable at the SARS, Ikeja also lamented: “I joined the police four years ago. I have two children schooling at the Police Staff Children School here in Ikeja with high school fees. I am the breadwinner of my family but now that my salary is not paid, how do I pay my children’s school fees? Also, there is a particular drug my mother is using and it is very costly. How do I buy this drug for her now that I don’t know when I will be paid? If the strike is real, I’m ready to join them. If the strike will make government pay our salaries, then I will join them,” he stated.
On what could be responsible for the delay in the payment of salaries of policemen, an Inspector at the Police Traffic Division in Agege volunteered: “Maybe they want to use our salaries to renovate the dilapidated Police College as exposed by a television station recently.” A police Sergeant at the same department blamed the authorities for the contempt with which an average policeman is held by the public: “They don’t want us to collect bribe and they are still holding on to our salaries, what do they want us to live on? We have been saving peoples’ lives but they are not taking care of us. This is a fight we must fight,” he said. When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP , said: “I’m not aware of any impending strike within the force.”
Lil Wayne Cuts his Dreads Off (Pictures)

Many fans thought that Lil Wayne cut off his long dreads that he has been growing out for years. The rumor started when photos of Lil Wayne and Big Boi were posted through Instagram. In a report on bet.com, Lil Wayne fans were shocked that Tunechi cut off his signature dreads, a rumor fueled by a photo of Big Boi with Wayne at Thursday night’s Madden Bowl XIX event. Contrary to popular belief, his dreads are still intact.
MTV reports that the photos looked like Wayne had cut off his locks. MTV News contributor Kelly Carter watched Tunechi perform at a pre-Super Bowl party in New Orleans and posed for a picture with the A Milli MC- she said Lil Wayne’s locks are still intact. “I’m pretty sure he still had his dreads and they were pulled back in a ponytail. In fact, I’m like 1,000 percent positive. I would’ve noticed that.”
Carter also sent photos to MTV that she snapped to prove that there was no hair-cut.

Tiwa Savage Engaged On Her Birthday
Tweet
The Sensational singer Tiwa Savage has been engaged by her boyfriend/manager Tunji ‘Tee Billz on the night she celebrated her 33rd birthday.
Tiwa had no inkling that this was coming; she was shocked when in the heat of the party ‘Tee Billz went down on his knees in the presence of friends and colleagues and in a very emotional voice proposed to her.
She said YES.
The moment was witnessed by a few celebrity friends, including Tiwa’s Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Banky W, Beat FM Personality Toolz and several others.
Tiwa in the past had repeatedly denied any romantic link with Tee Billz who on his own part made no comments either. It’s evident now that they’d both been living a lie. At some point it was rumoured that they had gotten married; Tiwa effortlessly stamped it out in her tweets.
With this engagement, Tiwa can now heave a sigh of relief as a lot of the pressure from the media and fans will be off her.
Big congratulations to them both.
Relationships Are like Trees
Tweet
Have you ever been to any orchard? I am sure we all have seen at least a few of them like orange, mango, cashew, coconut, chiku and many more. Did you notice friends, how these trees are planted? There is always a gap between any two grown up trees. Every tree needs some space to grow properly. It needs the right amount of light, soil, water, mineral and loving hands of a farmer. When all these needs are being taken care of well then only the tree grows the way the farmer wants it to be.
Similarly, all relationships too need some space to grow. They also need right amount of all ingredients including love and affection to take a proper shape, any relationship is like the four pillars of a temple. They are together, but they cant come very close to each other and if they do so, the walls of the temple would fall off, it would collapse. So friends, all relationships need a proper space to grow!
A tree is planted today but bears fruits only after a particular period, when it reaches maturity.
Similarly, our relationships also bear fruits at a later date. We shouldn't expect anything right from the beginning.
Big trees give shelter to all passersby without any expectations. And I have noticed that true, matured relationships too provide mental, emotional and physical shelter (support) to all.
Deeper the roots, stronger the hold of a tree. Similarly deeper the understanding, stronger the relationship.
When the winds are blowing harsh, the trees sway in the direction of wind and only those who do so, survive. Others are uprooted. Similarly, there are occasions when we just need to overlook a few things, just let them go, just flow with the wind. Only such relationships pass the test of hard times and survive even in not so favorable conditions.
Thus friends! Relationships are like trees, if nurtured with utmost love and care, will bear sweet fruits of love, compassion, strong emotional bonding and care.

You are more likely to find the G Spot if the woman is already well aroused, and using fingers are generally more effective than a penis.
1. Ask her to lie on her belly, legs apart, and hips rotated slightly upwards.
2. Insert two fingers (palm down) and carefully explore the front wall of her vagina with a firm touch.
3. Reach under her body and place your other hand on her abdomen, just above the pubic hairline, and apply a soft, downward pressure. This often helps to stimulate her G-Spot.
Position one
Guide her on to her hands and knees, with her buttocks raised and her head down. Kneel behind her and grasp her by her waist. As you penetrate her vagina in this position the head of your penis will hit her G-Spot automatically.
Position two
Guide her on to her back, raising her buttocks and lower back. As you mount her, gently bend her legs so that her knees touch her breasts. Now lovingly thump her G-Spot until she is an orgasmic mess.
Position three
Lie on your back, with your legs extended. Have your lady straddle you, with her knees positioned outside your legs, she will be facing your feet with her back turned to you. In this unique position, your penis will easily hit her G-Spot.

OMG!! Bible Student Rapes Spiritual Leader’s Wife: Records it… then kills her
Tweet
The Bible student who confessed to killing a spiritual leader’s wife revealed to a pastor he recorded the sexual assaults on his iPad, it emerged today, as the 23-year-old appeared in court. Micah Moore, of Kansas City, was charged on Saturday with first-degree murder in the death of Bethany Ann Deaton, which was made to look like a suicide after a bottle of pills and a note were left by her body.
He appeared shackled in court today with his head bowed to hear the charges against him after he confessed to the October 30 murder on Friday. Moore told an International House Of Prayer pastor at the Grandview Police Department that he video recorded the sexual assaults on his iPad.
Despite this, he has not been charged with any sexual assault. It is not yet clear if his iPad has been seized.
IHOP released a statement today distancing themselves from the ‘cult’ saying they had no idea what kind of practices the students engaged in.
The body of the 27-year-old woman was found in a van with a bag over her head with a suicide note that said: ‘My name is Bethany Deaton. I chose this evil thing. I did it because I wouldn’t be a real person and what is the point of living if it is too late for that?
‘I wish I had chosen differently a long time ago. I knew it all and refused to listen. Maybe Jesus will still save me.’ The statement, seen by The Kansas City Star, said that Moore admitted he was with Deaton at the lake and that he ‘placed a bag over her head and held it there until her body shook’.
Moore was one of a number of roommates of Bethany Deaton and her husband Tyler, who was said to serve as ‘the spiritual leader of a community’. He said he was afraid that Deaton was going to tell her therapist about assaults that had occurred over the previous few months.
Witnesses told detectives they were a part of a ‘religious community’ where they had sex with each other.
Moore told police that he was told to kill Bethany Deaton by a person who said ‘he knew Micah had it in him to do it’.
Another person who lived at their house told police Tyler had recently been ‘angry and frustrated’ and that in the weeks before Bethany’s death he revealed ‘he had had a dream that he killed his wife by suffocating her’.
Moore is the only person to be charged in the case as yet but the police said they are still investigating.
Bethany’s father released a statement on Monday about her death: ‘We are deeply grieving the loss of our beautiful and innocent daughter. We are shocked and horrified by the information now coming forth. ‘The betrayal, the subtle and increasing manipulation, and the brutal victimization which occurred is beyond tragic. We pray for the truth to be revealed.
‘While it is important to understand how Bethany died, it is even more important to understand how she lived. Because of the ongoing investigation, we do not have any further comment at this time.’

Actress Uche Iwuji Marries Oil/Gas Big Boy In Lagos Court Yesterday
Tweet
Actress Uche Iwuji was among the crop of Nollywood actress that seemed poised for the lofty heights of Nollywood stardom. The actress’ career was on the rise when she decided to slow the pace. The actress who splits her time between Nigeria and the UK has embarked on a new journey today as she married Juwon Lawal, CEO of Oil Trading and Logistics company, ABD Fuel during a civil ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria today.
Shortly before their wedding, the couple granted an interview to Nollywood Infotainment. Uche and Juwon shared their love story and plans for the future.
How They Met
Uche: While in London, one of my friend whom I hold in high esteem came for my birthday celebration and told me about one of her client’s that is still single who whould like to meet me. She knows him well as he has been a long standing client of hers. She is the owner of Giselle Home Ltd, a real estate outfit with it’s main office in Lekki, Lagos.
Initially, I told her I was not interested in meeting anybody, but she insisted and told me this guy was a good person but that it will be nice for me to speak with him and know if he is my kind of person. She went further to say that he’s a kind, selfless God fearing man, and been that she’s someone I trust her judgement of people I agreed for him to call me, from there we got talking and the rest is history.
Honestly, I can’t thank God enough because he’s given me my friend, husband, brother, everything that I’ve ever asked for in a man and more.
Juwon: I met her through a friend who is more like a sister to me, she is a property consultant who runs a real estate company called Giselle Homes Ltd. My sweetheart has already given you the rest of the details, please I rather not repeat it.
Feelings About their Union
Uche: Waooooo, I’m the happiest girl. Today is the day the Lord has made and I shall be glad in it. I feel so blessed and loved because this is every truthful woman’s dream. I’m sure many people didn’t see this coming, but I know my God cannot lie to me. Cos if there’s a man to pray, there’s a God to answer. I’ve always prayed to God for my divine destiny husband, and today, he’s proven to me again that he’s not the God that lies.

"Majority of Nigerian Churches has Lost It's Real Purpose"
There has been a lot of tittle-tattle lately as well as so many discordant tunes on the propriety or otherwise of jets and gifts to pastors and men of God.
The debates have been loud and raucous with so many people speaking from a position of little or no information. A lot of emotive vibes and outrage, for or against the perceived or real manipulations by men who supposedly have been given charge over the souls of millions, has become public fodder. Everyone appears to be venting their spleen wherever you turn.
Hosea 4:7-9
New King James Version (NKJV)
7
“The more they increased,
The more they sinned against Me;
I will change their glory into shame.
8
They eat up the sin of My people;
They set their heart on their iniquity.
9
And it shall be: like people, like priest.
So I will punish them for their ways,
And reward them for their deeds.
But what exactly should we do or say? Supporters of ostentatious and obviously manipulative men of the cloak are quick to put the critics in check by quoting “touch not mine anointed” lines ostensibly to show that men of “God” are above reproach and as such “lesser” men have no right whatsoever to criticize or condemn perceived wrong doings of these high men of “God.”
But is this the case? Are these men truly above reproach? Is it biblical for the “under shepherd” to feed fat on the flock while the flock groans and hopes for a better day? All these we shall examine in this piece. Let me appeal that this treatise may exceed the usual length allowed for articles on this blog as it comes laden with supporting Bible passages, but I assure you, it will be worth your while. Take a sip of water and follow me patiently.
And plead with your boss at work to learn from it as well if he frowns at you. Who knows, your boss may have unwittingly contributed to purchasing a Limo, Hummer or Private Jet for his Pastor lately. Christianity was first brought to the shores of Nigeria by the European missionaries in the early 1800s. When they came, they built hospitals and schools.
In fact, many Nigerians aged late thirties and above, were products of missionary schools, which were either free or came with negligible or paltry school fees. The early missionaries and churches in Nigeria were predicated on love and social services to their immediate communities. Many people in the age range I quoted above got quality education and even health care, courtesy of missionaries and churches.
But fast forward to the present day. Church members are coerced to part with money they barely have, with either a promise of God blessing them in return or with stern warnings of perpetual poverty or even threatened with the danger of hell if they refuse to give “cheerfully”. God’s blessing in church today is now for sale and even your offering must be spoken to, so that it can bring forth plenty harvest.
(remember our local priests “babalawo” have a culture of asking clients to rub their bodies with monies and ask for whatever they wish for).
As a matter of fact, a particular church I know, a few years ago had a special offering called ‘dominion jet offering’, where adherents were made to donate towards the “ministry’s” jet only for the jet to be converted for the use of the self styled Bishop later. *My lips are sealed*
In the course of my research, I discovered that a teacher’s son in a secondary school of one of these various prosperity promising centers, who lives in the church enclave, could not afford to send his son to the school, as a teacher and also amember of the church. His son was rather sent to school in a nearby town.
The modern Nigerian church tasks it’s members to donate towards various projects such as universities and elitist secondary schools, but curiously, the poorer members of such prosperity centers can neither send their wards or kids to such schools, neither do the churches have a program to cater for the poor amongst their flock.
Unlike the early missionaries who accommodated both the rich and poor in their schools, it is no longer business as usual for the poor. You either sow and get rich so that your children can also benefit from the schools built by the church you attend or find a lesser alternative, while hoping for a better day! The Church has become a class conscious body.
The passage in Act 4:34-35 which Reads: “(34) Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, (35) and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” has been totally ignored.
In Nigeria’s contrivances of prosperity churches, it is survival of the fittest, elimination of the “poor” or unfit. How wonderful, won’t you say? No longer are we our brother’s keeper. Like 50 Cent, we have resolved in churches to get rich or die trying.
We have been told that prosperity is a sign of God’s favor to his own people, but after reading and studying the lives of great men of God– men who brought great revivals in their time– I had to ask if Jonathan Edwards, a man who preached and thousands wept to the altar in one day, yet he wasn’t rich, or Smith Wiggleswort, a plumber whom God used to heal many sick and raised a lot of dead men, yet wasn’t stupendously rich, were missing a trick.
Tozer, John Wesley etc were great men of God, who neither built castles nor owned the choicest properties in their time, but they made such differences in the body of Christ so much so that till this day, their works still speak for them. Unlike our spirito-christian magicians, these men lived simple lives, but turned many around towards righteous and holy living. Their time was termed the period of the great revival in history.
Severally we have been reprimanded to “touch not mine anointed” but is this the correct application of this scripture? In which context was this phrase used? It is found in Psalm 105:15 and was repeated in 1Chronicles 16:22. That passage was written to praise the works of God when he took out Israel out of Egypt and saved them from harm, even though they were few. It was never about a pastor or a leader, it was written to praise God in taking care of a called out people. Anointed vessels are men who allow God to do his bidding through them.
Note that those people who must do his bidding must be “called out” and what is the “church”? It simply means “the called out ones”. Therefore that Passage can also mean “touch not the church”. Do NOT be deceived, it was never written to protect or immune “penterascality” or ‘pastopreneurs’ from criticism. It was written as a mark or seal of God’s protection upon his chosen ones.
The concept of giving and speaking to your money to work for you is another strange doctrine that has been introduced to make unsuspecting and unlearned Christians to part with their money without question.
Several times they have called this subtle extortion mechanism: ‘seed’, claiming the passage of seed time and harvest in Genesis 8:22. But God was not using seed figuratively. It was a definite and correct use. In fact he said; the summer, winter etc shall not cease. You don’t pay for God’s blessings. Obed edom was blessed in 2 Samuel 6:10-12 not because he paid God aspecial seed but because the presence of God dwelt within him and his household.
Unlike the short-cut pay and receive theology of our modern day pastors, God’s blessings dwell securely in his presence. It is better to live holy and have God on your side, than give plenty, while continuing in sin.
There is nothing wrong in showering your pastors with gifts, but let’s look at some biblical examples of men that God used mightily. Were they louts, who busied themselves with soliciting gifts or were they men who had reasonable sources of income? Amos was a great prophet but hear him in Amos 7:14-15:
14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdman, and agatherer of sycomore fruit:
15 And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said unto me, ‘Go, prophesy unto my people Israel’.
And let’s look at Paul, one of the greatest apostles who ever lived. Acts 18:1-3:
18 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
He was a tent maker. He HAD A JOB. He was no lout neither was he a beggar or a manipulator. His hands provided for his needs.
I wish to bring a few scriptures to light in Philippians 3:18-19 18
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
and 2 Timothy 3:1-2 3:
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.
It is very clear that we are approaching the last days and like Jesus said, “shall I find faith on earth”? It a question we all should ponder on. Ask yourself, what is the purpose of your Christian faith? Is it to serve God or marmon? Is amassing worldly cash and acquiring worldly goods the reason Christ died on the cross? Do not get me wrong, being prosperous in not a sin, but it is written in 2Timothy 2:4:
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
And in Colosians 2:9, we read:
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead, bodily. If God is genuinely sought, he will be found. Having the presence of God dwelling in you is a guarantee of his fulness. The rate at which wrong doctrines are taught and imbibed is alarming and this is a pointer to alarming biblical illiteracy levels among Christians. As God said, ‘like people like priests’.
1Peter 4:17 17:
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins with us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”. What is the gospel of God? I doubt if it means amassing wealth or accumulating worldly goods. Pastors must be careful in fleecing the flock as it is written that The souls of those in their care will be required of them.
Our peculiar situation shows clearly that there are fundamental flaws in the teachings of the church as written in our opening scripture. Hosea, as quoted above, suggests that as the priests (pastors, bishops, archbishops, General overseers etc) are increasing, so is iniquity and sin on the rise. Looking at Nigeria today, we have a church in almost every corner, yet the crime and immorality rates are rising exponentially.
It is time for the men of GOD to face their true calling which is preaching the gospel. But if they persist in milking the flock, God said he will use even stones, to achieve his aims, if men refuse to do his bidding. Study the scriptures and be diligent. Do not let a man created in ‘like-passions’ pull a wool over your eyes in the name of God. A lie can travel very fast in time, but in one swift moment, the truth will pursue, overtake and annihilate it. There is too much hot air emanating from our pulpits, but where is the fire of revival?

NEWS: Gunmen invade NYSC lodge in Taraba
Tweet
GUNMEN, yesterday,in Jalingo, Taraba State, attacked members of National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, at the Family House of the Redeemed Christian Corps Fellowship, RCCF, behind Federal Government Girls College, FGGC, dispossessing them of money and other valuables.
It was gathered that the bandits held the corp members hostage for several hours after robbing them. The gunmen were said to have gained entrance into the lodge from a toilet in the female wing of the building, carting away three laptops, 24 mobile phones and an undisclosed amount of money.
Feeding allowance gone
One of the victims, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “We were about 20 corps members in the lodge when it happened. All our phones were taken away.
“Some of us had more than one phones. Our monthly feeding allowance, which we contributed, was also taken away by the evil men.”
Another said: “We were sleeping when some men came in holding all sorts of dangerous weapons. We never resisted them. We obeyed their orders because we were shocked by fear.
‘They threaten to behead us’
“They asked us of our state of origin and religion, threatening to behead us if we misbehave.”
Confirming the attack, RCCF President, Banji Omogbehin, said: “The motive of the attack was unknown because the bandits asked us our state of origin, threatened to rape our ladies and behead us.”
Officials of NYSC, who visited the corps members, said the issue would be seriously dealt with, as the scheme would not tolerate such act on its serving corps members.
Police report
However, Police spokesperson, Amos Olaoye, said it was a case of burglary and stealing.
He said: “I can confirm the attack, but it is not robbery. We have not made any arrest yet but the police are investigating.”

Be Willing to Face the Truth

The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both. Proverbs 20:12
Dr. Howard Hendricks, a church growth expert, was once asked to diagnose the declining membership in a certain church. After attending service for several weeks he met with the board of elders and said, 'Put a fence around it and charge admission, so people can come and see how church was done in the 1950s.' In other words, you're hopelessly behind! When our ego is on the line, we have a tendency to put a positive spin on things while ignoring all evidence to the contrary. The danger is that over time we lose sight of what's actually happening around us. Good leaders refuse to do that; they're relentless in their quest to know the score. They root out misinformation and refuse to reward those who deliver it. In so doing they create a culture that's transparent concerning what is and what isn't taking place. To ensure that they live this way, they live by these seven commandments:
1) Thou shalt not pretend.
2) Thou shalt not turn a blind eye.
3) Thou shalt not exaggerate.
4) Thou shalt not shoot the bearer of bad news.
5) Thou shalt not hide behind the numbers.
6) Thou shalt not ignore constructive criticism.
7) Thou shalt not isolate thyself.
Attempting to make progress while turning a blind eye to reality is like treading water; it can only go on for so long. Eventually you drown. Whether it's in your church, your business or your personal life, be willing to face the truth regardless of how painful it is. And if you don't like what you see-start changing it!

Man Faked His Own Death To Propose To Girlfriend
Tweet
A Russian man wanted to see if his girlfriend really did love him to death – so he faked his own demise in a bizarre proposal.
Alexey Bykov, 30, from Omsk, hired a movie director, stuntmen, make-up artists, and even a script writer to stage a bogus car crash.
He then arranged to meet girlfriend Irena Kolokov at the crash site so she would be convinced he was dead.
“We’d arranged to meet at a certain place but when I arrived there were mangled cars everywhere, ambulances, smoke, and carnage,” said Miss Kolokov.
“Then when I saw Alexy covered in blood lying in the road a paramedic told me he was dead and I just broke down in tears.”
ut the supposedly ‘dead’ Mr Bykov then jumped to his feet and proposed to Irena still covered in fake blood.
“I was so cross I almost killed him again, but for real this time,” she said.
Luckily for Mr Bykov, she eventually saw the joke, said yes – and the couple were married last week.

“I wanted her to realize how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me.
“I think it worked but I promise it’s the last time,” he said.

Eye witnesses said Lastma officials got to the scene like 3 minutes after the occurrence and they maintained free flow of traffic and contacted the fire service immediately. But till the bus burned out, no fire service was seen.
Å 24 years Old Nigerian Physics Undergraduate Mubarak Muhammad Abdullahi, Builds Helicopter
Tweet
Mubarak Muhammad Abdullahi, a 24-year-old physics undergraduate in northern Nigeria, takes old cars and motorbikes to pieces in the back yard at home and builds his own helicopters from the parts.
"It took me eight months to build this one," he said, sweat pouring from his forehead as he filled the radiator of the banana yellow four-seater which he now parks in the grounds of his university.
The chopper, which has flown briefly on six occasions, is made from scrap aluminium that Abdullahi bought with the money he makes from computer and mobile phone repairs, and a donation from his father, who teaches at Kano's Bayero university.
It is powered by a second-hand 133 horsepower Honda Civic car engine and kitted out with seats from an
old Toyota saloon car. Its other parts come from the carcass of a Boeing 747 which crashed near Kano some years ago.
For a four-seater it is a big aircraft, measuring twelve metres (39 feet) long, seven metres high by five wide. It has never attained an altitude of more than seven feet.
The cockpit consists of a push-button ignition, an accelerator lever between the seats which controls vertical thrust, a joystick that provides balance and bearing.
A small screen on the dashboard connects to a camera underneath the helicopter for ground vision, a set of six buttons adjusts the screen's brightness while a small transmitter is used for communication.
"You start it, allow it to run for a minute or two and you then shift the accelerator forward and the propeller on top begins to spin. The further you shift the accelerator the faster it goes and once you reach 300 rmp you press the joystick and it takes off," Abdullahi explained from the cockpit.
He said he learned the rudiments of flying a helicopter from the Internet and first got the idea of building one from the films he watches on television.
"I watched action movies a lot and I was fascinated by the way choppers fly. I decided it would be easier to build one than to build a car," he said pacing the premises of the security division of the university which he uses as hanger for his helicopter.
He hoped -- and still does hope -- that the Nigerian government and his wealthy compatriots would turn to him and stop placing orders with western manufacturers.
So far, however, government response to his chopper project has been underwhelming to say the least.
Although some government officials got very excited when they saw him conduct a demonstration flight in neighbouring Katsina state, Nigeria's Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has so far shown no interest in his aircraft.
"No one from the NCAA has come to see what I've done. We don't reward talent in this country," he lamented.
Abdullahi does admit that his first helicopter lacks "some basic facilities like devices for measuring atmospheric pressure, altitude, humidity and the like."
In a country with Nigeria's abysmal air safety record officials may be loath to gamble on one student's home-made helicopter.
But Abdullahi, undeterred, has started work on a new flying machine, which, he says, "will be a radical improvement on the first one in terms of sophistication and aesthetics."
Currently just a spindly metal frame in the back yard, the helicopter will be a two-seater and Abdullahi calculates it will be able to fly at an altitude of 15 feet for three hours at a stretch.
It will be powered by a brand new motor -- albeit Taiwan-manufactured and destined for the Jincheng motorbike so common on the streets of Kano.

I WOULD HAVE CAPTIONED IT "A MUST READ FOR ALL LADIES" BUT...
"I do not support what these perverted married men нάs done to these girls, but on the fact still remains that these young ladies brought this upon themselves. Read on"...
I read a touching, pathetic experience on one a blog, so i thought i should share it with you guys, it's about the horrifying experience of 8 girls in the hand of 8 devilish men, its a must read for all ladies out there.
"Hi, I am Tonia (not real name), a girl who has fears, beliefs, reservations and just your regular typical Nigerian girl. This past few weeks has been one hell of a game for me. I have really been unsettled and I thought I share this story with you.
"When Cynthia (the lady killed in the hotel room in Festac, Lagos) surfaced on the internet and various news media, I was scared and it brought back a whole lot of memories to me and also served as and eye opener. Many people castigated and criticised Cynthia (may her
gentle soul rest in peace), but my point is, it could have been anybody, anybody at all.
"We have met people through various social media. Some have ended up well, some have not but with painful memories. To cut the long story short, let me kindly share with you my encounter with social media especially the very popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM).
"I am a graduate and currently serving in Kaduna. I could have runced it, but I needed somewhere to clear my head and forget about my ugly encounter. Here is my story.
"I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.
"I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had 'mad' fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have sex, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined.
"He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have sex with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan.
"He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning. We kept talking and chatting and sending naked pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn't see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.
"One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a BBM chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends.
"The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn't mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.
"We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shoping for nice sexy beach wears.
"The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party. We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well 'MARRIED MEN'. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn't paying bills.
"We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood. It was a very nice setting.
"I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming.
"Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting. It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it.
"I was also feeling HORNY as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house. I could still see faces, but was too weak and horny to react.
"Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stripped us down and had sex with us.
"I enjoyed it a bit because I was horny. It was a mixed feeling because I cried, I moaned, but I did not know how many times he came into me. He pounded me hard. I was dizzy, but he grabbed me with force. All I could notice was the wedding ring on his finger. I thought of how wicked and miserable some married can be. How inhuman and heartless they could be.
"All of them took turns in switching partners and slept with all of us. I passed out. That was the last thing I could remember. I felt water poured on me. I noticed all the other girls around me too were half naked and some stark naked.
"We spent the night at the beach, but the men were no where to be found. I looked round me and all I could see was packs of used condoms. I ran to pick my cloths and possibly raise an alarm. I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well.
"We were drugged and used like tissue paper. I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it.
"I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being naked on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures. I was not myself for a month.
"I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had.
"Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia's story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they see it and changed their ways.
"I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on. My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens.
"To all married women, pray hard to God to intervene in your marriages and turn your husbands from bad habits to and bad friends. As for me, I do not think I ever want to get married or date a man again. That chapter has been closed for good in my life.
Please, do not ignore my mail. Please post it. There are a lot of things we ladies need to learn including you. Please post it on your blog and save a soul. It could be your friend, sister, cousin, neighbour.
"God bless you as you pass it on. To all readers, I do not care if you insult me or rain abuses at me. My job is to share this encounter with you and save you from any mishap. God bless you all. Amen."

Kabiru Sokoto Confesses - Top Police Chiefs Aided My Escape
Tweet
Detained Boko Haram bomber, Kabiru Sokoto, has opened up to his investigators that top police officers actually aided his escape from their custody based on an “arrangement” between their in-house contact and his leaders.
According to Nigeria Tribune on Saturday, Kabiru denied that he escaped from custody but that he was actually released by the police based on an alleged arrangement made with them by the top echelon of the sect with their contact in the police.
The suspect, it was learnt, alleged that the police facilitated his initial escape to a location in Toto, before he moved to Taraba State, where he had planned to flee to neighbouring Republic of Cameroun before he was caught.
It was further learnt that following the suspect’s revelation, the SSS reportedly marked one of the said top police officers and others down for further interrogation with a view to unraveling those behind the purported escape within and outside the police.
A very senior officer in the service told Nigeria Tribune in confidence that Kabiru Sokoto was cooperating with his interrogators which, he said at the end of the day, would assist in no small way in unraveling the mystery behind the activities of the sect in the country.

Chris Brown Goes head-on On Haters, Tweets “I Got A Grammy”
Chris Brown had yet another angry twitter rant yesterday, but if you don’t follow him, you may have missed it as his tweet has since been deleted.
“Strange how we pick and choose who to hate!” he began. “Let me ask u this. Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold drugs (poisoning). … But yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do. Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!! But guess what???”
He quickly took it down and replaced with, “I’m so OVER everyone’s opinions.. Really!!!”
I’m all about giving folks second chances, but when you continually act the fool and go on these rants, you’re not helping your case.
The singer who performed twice at the 54th Grammy Awards on Sunday night after a two-year shutout clearly had an impact on the audience. Folks on Twitter went off… some fans were happy to see his return but there were those who were clearly pissed off that he was welcomed back with open arms.
Chris tweeted to his haters:
“HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now!” “That’s the ultimate F*** OFF.”

Kobe Bryant Seen French Kissing Soon to be Ex Wife Vanessa Bryant on Val's Day!!!!
Apparently Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa could be getting back together rather than finalizing their divorce. The Black Mamba was seen sucking face with his ex-wife after the Hawks game last night. Vanessa filed for divorce in September, and according to the TMZ report linked above, the two have already settled their property, giving Vanessa three Newport Beach estates. The divorce will not be final until June, giving the couple plenty of time to reconcile their differences and get back together. Well, I can say Valentine's day do really have it's own spirit.

Oil Marketer's Attempt to bribe Panel
Tweet
IN a bid to escape exposure, oil marketers and fuel importers are dangling multi-billion naira deals before members of the House of Representatives panel probing the oil subsidy regime in the country, investigations hane revealed.
Quite a number of the 140 oil business firms being probed by the House’s Ad Hoc Commitee on Subsidy Regime, our correspondent learnt, were not willing to appear before the panel and had been offering mouth-watering deals to members of the comittee in order to stay away.
The panel, headed by Mr. Farouk Lawan, was inaugurated by the House in the wake of unsavoury tales of corruption involved in subsidy management that followed the January 1 removal of subsidy on local petrol consumption by President Goodluck Jonathan and the consequent nationwide protests.
Curiously, former members of the National Assembly who are friends of the oil businessmen are serving as the middlemen brokering the deals between their friends and the lawmakers.
When confronted with findings, Lawan admitted that members of his committee were under “pressure” to compromise their investigation.
He confirmed that ex-members of the House were the agents negotiating the deals packaged in form of partnership with the oil marketers.
A member of the House panel who wished not to be named confided in our correspondent that many of the oil marketers had approached the lawmakers with tempting business deals.
The lawmaker told our correspondent, “I can tell you that a number of them (marketers) tried to reach us; they made business proposals, including offers to become partners in their operations.
“But, it was a useless gamble because this investigation is one exercise that the committee members resolved never to toy with.
“The entire House and Nigerians expect so much from our findings.”
The lawmaker, however, denied that bribery was among the offers made in the course of the four-week public hearing.
When contacted, Lawan admitted the panel was under, “pressure and overtures” made to members, but denied that money was offered to lawmakers.
Asked to elaborate on what he meant by ‘pressure and overtures,’ Lawan explained that he was aware of people using “indirect ways” to appeal to the panel to soft-pedal on their cases.
“They come through some of our colleagues to appeal that they should not be put under the spotlight.
“They knew our stance that members of the committee were not approachable; they did not have the courage to come to us directly,” he stated.
He insisted that money was not part of the pressure. “I have never used the word bribe, but I can say that there were overtures,” he added.
Lawan claimed that the difficult questions put to most of the importers suggested that nobody took bribe from them.
Another member of the committee, Eucheria Azodo, also spoke on the work of the committee but denied being offered bribe.
“There was no offer of bribery to the best of my knowledge”, she said.
Findings also showed that the committee resolved not to investigate the one million excess barrels of crude oil allegedly supplied to Liberia by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in 2009.
An audit report before the panel indicates that the authorities in the West African country had requested a transaction of 10, 000 barrels of crude.
The report, which was prepared by the Office of the Auditor-General of Liberia, indicated that the NNPC supplied one million barrels in excess of the 10, 000 originally requested.
When a member of the panel, Mr. Abiodun Faleke, tabled the matter on Thursday last week, the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Austin Oniwon, denied knowledge of the transaction, though he promised to investigate it.
However, the panel members were said to have reviewed the report and resolved that it was not part of the mandate of the committee.
It was learnt that the members decided that their mandate was to investigate the fuel subsidy regime and how funds voted for subsidy were managed.
Another member of the com, itee revealed on Tuesday, “The truth is that there are many rotten areas in our oil and gas industry.
“Each of these areas will require a separate investigation to thoroughly examine it and punish the culprits.
“The issue of crude oil sales, like the one involving Liberia, is one of them; the level of corruption is intimidating.”
He added, “At best, the committee will recommend to the House to set up a separate inquiry on the issue.
“If we have to look into everything that came before the committee, we may never conclude the assignment in the next one year.
“Again, people will pick up the terms of reference of the committee and challenge you on why you decided to go into an area not covered by the terms.
“The industry, from what we have discovered, is complex; a single investigation can never address all the issues.”
Lawan confirmed the position of the committee on the matter, saying that the best the committee could do would be to mention it in its report.
